Generally these things take time.
The Supreme Court of India has very categorically stated that once a FIR is lodged it cannot be withdrawn and can only be quashed.
However, if you do not wish to proceed further. You can write it to the Police Station and get a receiving for your records. The same will not stop your case. You will still be called sometime by the local court wherein you need to stand on the witness box and say that you do no with to proceed with the instant case as against the accused.

Write to SHO and withdraw your complaint. If FIR stand registered then you shall be required to approach high court for quashing of FIR.
Go to the same police station where you submitted the application.
Give a written withdrawal request, clearly stating that you no longer wish to pursue the matter.
Mention that you're doing this voluntarily and that no FIR has been registered yet.
Keep a copy with receiving stamp for your records.
