Dear Client, the parents can file a complaint claiming their daughter’s stridhan if they think it’s being withheld wrongfully.

Also, the question of who legally inherits the deceased woman's stridhan is governed by the Hindu Succession Act, 1956. The parents do not automatically become entitled to all of the stridhan merely because their daughter died childless. The legal heirs and rights over the property will depend on the facts of the case.

Please feel free to reach out if you require further assistance. Thank you.

Dear Sir,

Yes — the parents of an issueless married woman who commits suicide within 5 years of marriage can initiate proceedings to recover her stridhan, including filing a case under Section 406 IPC, provided certain conditions are met
