► Here is the complete English version with your added line: “We have a case regarding government job seats, for which we filed a writ petition 4 years ago. It is still pending in the court. Some other students had also filed a petition, and their final decision is about to come. Our case is in a different bench and theirs is in another bench. So will the judgment given in their case apply to our case as well? If the decision applies to us too, then how will it be implemented?”

Dear Sir,

After the judgment in the other case is delivered:

You file a memo / application in your writ petition:
“The issue is already decided by another coordinate bench in W.P. No. ____ dated ____.”

Attach a certified copy of that judgment.

Request the court to dispose of your petition in terms of that judgment.

Courts usually do this quickly because no fresh arguments are needed.

No. decision passed by other bench would not apply in your case but as precedent bench can form opinion and can according pass the order. You should have to get your case clubbed with cases which were filed by other students.
