Dear Client,
Your safety, both emotional and physical, is the most important thing right now. If you’re female, you can get help from a domestic violence shelter or protection order as provided under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence (DV) Act, 2005. You can also file a police report against family members who have committed violence (i.e., assault, threats, or any other criminal acts) against you under the BNS, 2023. We strongly encourage you to reach out to a local police department or to a local crisis centre immediately, as well as to reach out to an attorney about formalising your police report through an FIR and/or a magistrate’s complaint document. I hope this answer helps. If you have any further queries, kindly do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you
