Dear Client, mental and verbal abuse can also be domestic violence under Section 3 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. If you are facing such abuse, you can file a complaint under the Act and seek protection from the court. Depending on your situation, you may ask for a Protection Order (Section 18), Monetary Relief (Section 20), or Compensation (Section 22). You can approach the police, a Protection Officer, or a lawyer for help in filing the complaint. If you feel unsafe, contact the police immediately. Do reach out to us if you require help with the case. Thank you.
